Katha is a non profit organization started in 1988 by Geeta Dharmarajan. It takes inspiration from the Indian Atticus style of education- ‘Gurukul’ that believed in the methods of Speech. Debate. Interaction and right action.
Children are already used to listening to stories in their native language with cultural morals. Using this interest as bait, Katha started Story Pedagogy and eventually ‘I Love Reading’ programs that fosters rooted understanding in children through stories
Infographic
The idea behind this infographic was to educate the masses about Katha’s initiative to ignite the spark of studying in students, and their collective efforts with the Indian Government towards the same. Abstract forms and metaphors have been used to convey messages throughout. The flame being synonymous to the spark of studying, and how turning the match stick keeps the flame from dying (representing Katha’s efforts to help them continue studying)
